My boss changed payday but not pay period.?

We were getting paid every 2 weeks on a monday. Pay period ends on Sunday. Now she has changed payday to Wed. But the pay period is still every two weeks and ends on Sunday. Does this make sense. So basically we work two weeks and then get paid every 2 weeks and 3 days. Does this make sense . Is it normal practice. She said she needed more time to do payroll. How could she do this differently and it work for her and we still get paid every two weeks instead of waiting til wed.
