Chicago Public High Schools-ROTC or PE?

I am an eighth grader and I just got accepted into Lane Tech (Chicago) and am having trouble choosing between ROTC and PE? Which is less painful(:P), less work, etc? I'm pretty lazy. Also, I understand that ROTC has uniforms and I'm wondering if they're expensive or if I can barrow one from the school?
