You think college students will choose another job now they see how society hates and reviles teachers?

You can't put all that bile back in the bottle. It came out. We now know that most people really, really, really HATE teachers. I now realize that everything I have ever done in the class room was for nothing. All the times I loaned lunch money, all the times I have helped a student, all the late hours grading papers. It means nothing. Society has flipped. Teachers are now the villains. I have a student teacher from the local university doing his classroom hours in my room. He is torn between law school and teaching. I just told him to NOT go into teaching. He will be hated, blamed for everything, and never get his pension. Will this effect teacher recruitment? When I was gettting my teaching credential at UCLA, everyone was all excited about becoming teachers. Now that teachers are the arch villains and scum of society, I think the best and brightest of our future teachers will go elsewhere. I turn on the TV and now am somewhat depressed to see that I am the most horrible person and I am a lazy scum and parasite, and the cause of the recession.
