What can be done about recurring paycheck mistakes?

I have worked for a company for the last few years, and here lately they have been making a lot of mistakes with my paycheck. It is either short and ive got to wait till next payday to get what is owed to me, or they pay me to much and they take it out of the next paycheck. I know people make mistakes, I know because ive made my share, but this is becoming a real problem and like I said it is happening more and more. When it happens the people involved dont show any remorse. The last time it happened to me they were laughing about. Is there anything that be done to keep this from happening again and again.
